Sew Monday #14

14

It’s Monday let’s sew!!! What a fun block to stitch! Fly stitch with buds of bullion stitches hold the heart to the background fabric. A snippet of lace acts as a vase for a bouquet of button flowers. The flowers are finished with stem stitch and lazy daisy leaves. Two butterfly buttons hover over the bouquet. Clusters of beads give sparkle and dimension to the heart.

Flowers make me happy. My mother planted a climbing rose bush many years ago. That rose bush has produced an abundance of blooms over the years! Not only does the bush look beautiful but it smells wonderful! That rose bush is planted on the corner of the house, it is not in a prominent place. I must admit it was overlooked for some time when we first moved into the house. Amazingly the bush was thriving without attention! I wanted to buy another bush like it for the other side of the house. So, I took a bloom to the nursery.  There I discovered that this particular rose bush was Texas hardy. Now that’s my kind of rose bush!

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin….  Matthew 6:28 ESV
