Installment #10 in Sew Monday Treasured Hearts series! This block features a prominent pink heart shaped budding flower outlined in threaded back stitch. French knots, seed bead clusters, lazy daisy and pistol stitch bring the flower alive. A fanciful vine emerges from the flower. The vine supports delicate pink blossoms of French knots and pistol stitch. Glass beads add sparkle to the background. Twisted chain stitch secures the heart applique to the chocolate brown quilt block for the finishing touch.
Sometimes I’m asked why I make quilts especially ones that are purely art. Ones that have no other purpose but to make me happy and be beautiful. Whether I’m making art quilts or simple utilitarian quilts the reason is always the same. For me it is an expression of praise to God for the gift of creativity he has bestowed on me. Any talents or abilities that I have are from God.
I offer you my heart, Lord God, and I trust you. Psalms 25:1-2 CEV
