Sew Monday! It’s already week 9 of our Sew Monday Treasured Hearts series!
I hope you have been inspired and challenged. This week’s block features a Vine with blue flowers. The heart is framed by a simple lace. A small square button embellishes the heart. The vine is stitched with variegated green thread in a lazy daisy chain stitch. The flowers themselves are open French knots with a seed bead in the middle. Ever since I learned to make open French knots I have found many uses for them. They are so much fun to stitch. The background is scattered with blue seed beads to add interest and texture.
I have found it is much easier for me to grow a garden by stitching it than it is for me to plant a garden and have it flourish. It seems something always happens to my garden. It doesn’t get enough water, or it gets too much water, weeds overtake it and life gets busy. It gets neglected. A garden takes dedication and time along with a certain amount of knowledge.
I found that tending a garden is much like tending my attitude. I found this quote that says it well:
Your mind is a garden,
Your thoughts are the seeds,
You can grow flowers or weeds.
The best way I know to weed the garden of my mind is allowing Jesus to help me with the process.
We take every thought captive so that it is obedient to Christ.
