I had so much fun designing this block! I found the joy charm on clearance, bought it, didn’t have any idea how I would use it! Now here it is a couple of years later paired with vintage satin ribbon, forming a banner across the top of the heart. Then I added a nice mix of new and old buttons. Beads add a little sparkle.
The word ‘joy’ is mentioned a hundred and eighty-two times in The New American Standard Version of the Bible! I find that very encouraging and comforting. I believe God wants us to be joyful. His word tells us true, deep, abiding joy comes from the Holy Spirit
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23 NASB
Here some of my favorite verses using the word joy….
“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Zephaniah 3:17 NLT
It blows me away when I really think about this verse! The God of the universe, my mighty savior takes delight in me! Calms my fears! And to top it off sings over me with joy! Amazing!
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13 NASB
As I write this post Romans 15:13 is my prayer for you!
