Fresh Start

Have you ever felt the need for a fresh start? I think we all do at one time or another. Today is my fresh start! While our summer Mission Adventures offered many opportunities for us to see God at work through the ministries we were privileged to partner with, we were left physically, emotionally, and spiritually drained.

For the past few weeks God has allowed us to experience Mark 6:31 in a very personal way.

“There were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his disciples didn’t even have time to eat. So, he said to them, “Let us go off by ourselves to some place where we will be alone, and you can rest for a while.”
Mark 6:31 GNB

We all need periods of rest. Time to get away from it all. A place to recharge.

During this time of spiritual rest, new ideas have formulated. I have experienced new and refreshing desires to share my prayer quilt with those I meet as I go about my daily activities. It’s a fresh start!

“He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
Psalms 23:3 ESV

I will be sharing some of my past quilts and what they mean to me as well as current projects. The quilt pictured was begun in 2015 while we were on a mission trip. As I planned, prepared, and stitched this quilt 2nd Corinthians 5:17 continually came to mind.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

I entered this quilt in the Abilene quilt show and entitled it Glorious Butterflies, with the reference of Philippians 3:21.

“(Jesus) will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”
Philippians 3:21 ESV

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

I hope you will continue to Journey with us as we explore renewed enthusiasm, new ideas, and look for opportunities to let our light shine.
