Dwelling in the Shadow

Our stay in Moab, Utah was great! If you find yourself in the area and hungry, go to the Moab Diner. It’s fabulous! The service is great and the food ample and very tasty. On our way out of Moab we decided to visit Arches National Park again. It was a good decision. Arches provides one amazing vista after another. I don’t even have words for the beauty and majesty of Arches, so I will let my pictures speak for me.

This picture I took to show the scale of the rock formations compared to Marshall who is 6 feet 2 inches tall, reminds us of these scriptures…

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalms 91:1 ESV

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
Psalms 18:2 ESV

Our God is the Big, Mighty, All – powerful God! The rock behind Marshall is huge but our God is larger than anything we can imagine! He is bigger than any problem or circumstance we may face. When the struggles of this life get us down he gives us shelter in his shadow.

Standing in the shadow of that huge rock was peaceful, cool, and pleasant. Stepping out of that shadow it was hot and stifling.  I am thankful today that I am able to take refuge in the shadow of the Most High God!
