We have tried to go on a Friday Adventure every Friday. It all started after I had recuperated from 43 radiation treatments for prostate cancer.
We have traveled across the United States and abroad but not so much in Texas. We decided to make Fridays our day of travel to see Texas. So, we travel to points of interest or along some county road. We look for interesting sites like old bridges, flowered covered fields, animals and windmills. We like to eat in small-town restaurants and “greasy spoons”. We are excited about what is just around the next bend in the road.
This is a time to let the things of our daily lives fade away and to relax in the wonderful world the Lord has made. It is a time for us as a couple to spend talking and laughing.
I am in remission now. I think God allowed me to get cancer to help me, no us, to stop and be thankful for the things we have. To be aware of the things God has prepared for us.
Behold I will do something new. Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19. NASB
