They say a picture is worth a thousand words. What do you say about your first cup of coffee in the morning? ‘Gotta have it!’ ‘Wakes me up!’ ‘It certainly won’t be my last cup!’ ‘Eww, coffee?’ Regardless what you say about that first cup of coffee, we all have our morning rituals. This morning, Marshall and I left our rituals behind and went out for breakfast at a local icon, the Dixie Pig. It is always a busy place. Locals and visitors alike pile into this little diner for an early cup of coffee, good food and good company.
As I sit sipping my coffee, my thoughts go to the many blessings in my life. At first, I am just grateful for a nice warm cup of coffee. Then my thoughts shift to things of greater importance, a loving family, wonderful friends, a warm home on this cold wintry day, plenty of food and all the necessities of life. I breathe a prayer “Oh Lord, help me to be grateful and not take all that I have for granted.”
Funny how a cup of coffee can be so profound! One cup of coffee and 1,000 blessings! Before the end of the day, spend some time thanking God for all you have. It’ll do your heart body and soul good!
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. Psalms 16:5
